Daily Cleaning Schedule | How To Get It Done
Here is how we use this cleaning schedule in our home and how you can use it in yours!
In our home, it’s our two kids, my husband, and myself. So each person in the household is assigned one of the shared living spaces, such as the living room, kitchen/dining room, and bathroom/s as their “zone.” Additionally, everyone is responsible for their own bedroom. So essentially, each person is responsible for maintaining their zone and their bedroom daily. And we usually try to get our zones done at night before bed and we alternate zones weekly.
With that said, you can do the same with roommates and assign each roommate a zone/s. And if it is just one person in your household, no problem! This daily cleaning routine is still manageable to do for one person too because this entire list can be completed in 40- minutes or less! Seriously, I promise! Once you get the hang of it, it’s such an easy cleaning schedule to stick to and you can get it done pretty fast!
Lastly, remember it’s not a “deep cleaning” it’s supposed to be a daily maintenance cleaning, so it really should not take you more than 40 minutes max by yourself, and about 15 minutes if sharing responsibilities.

Daily Cleaning Schedule | Q&A
How do I make a daily cleaning schedule?
First of all, you want to make sure that you keep it simple. Because you do not want to add too many daily chores that will only end up making you feel overwhelmed and you’ll end up not sticking to it. Instead, you want a realistic cleaning schedule that you know you can maintain and easily stick to daily. Once you determine what you can realistically clean daily, you can create a cleaning checklist to help you keep track and stick to it.
How often should I mop my floors?
How often you mop your floors can vary based on preference and other factors. For example, if you have a dog, kids, or daily high traffic in your home, you might have to mop daily or at the very least spot clean the floors. Otherwise, you can just do a deep mop once per week. I use hot water, tide, and disinfectant bleach to clean out floors, and that leaves the floors nice and clean.
How often should you change bed sheets?
Honestly, I think bedsheets should get washed/changed weekly. You might even get away with doing it bi-weekly if you don’t lay on your bed with outside clothes and shower nightly. Otherwise, your sheet gets pretty dirty in just one week. Especially kids’ bedsheets!
That said, I have to be real with you haha! We wash them bi-weekly. I do try to do it weekly, but more often than not, it is bi-weekly. However, we all shower at night and don’t lay on the bed with outside clothing, so I guess that helps, haha!
How often should you clean your kitchen sink?
I clean our sink daily after washing the dishes. But I think you can get away with every other day. And luckily cleaning the sink does not take a lot of time, maybe an extra 3-4 minutes after washing the dishes and it makes such a huge difference to have a clean sink. So I would aim for daily or every other day.
