Do you need shower head cleaning hacks that make cleaning your shower head easy? This post is for you! This post shows you how to clean a shower head without removing it.
Earlier this year, I wrote a post listing the places most people forget to clean in their homes. And one of them was the shower head! The shower head is just one of those areas that people use daily, yet most people don’t clean it as regularly as they should. Including myself!

In this post, we share how to clean a shower head without removing it, and it’s actually super easy to do! So if youre a busy mama like me and need cleaning hacks that save you time, this one is worth trying!
This post is about how to clean a shower head without removing it.
Steps For How To Clean A Shower Head Without Removing It
Step 1- Fill a Zipper Bag With 1-2 Cups of Vinegar
To clean your shower head without removing it, you’ll need to fill a gallon-size zipper bag with 1-2 cups of vinegar. Then you’ll need to use a rubber band to secure the zipper bag containing the vinegar onto the shower head. Soak the shower head in vinegar by ensuring the shower nuzzle is fully submerged in the vinegar before letting it sit.
Here is how your zipper bag should be tied/secured to the shower head.

Step 2- Leave the Zipper Bag Tied to the Shower Head for at Least 30-minutes
You can leave it more if needed. It really depends on how much buildup has accumulated in the shower head. But usually, about 30 minutes is enough time to lift all the gunk from the shower head.
Disclaimer: Always test before trying a new cleaning method/product. I would check the shower head every few minutes the first time you clean it. Only to make sure the vinegar doesn’t damage your shower head finish,

Step 3- Remove the Zipper Bag and Scrub Shower Head
Once you remove the zipper bag, you’ll see all the grime lifted off the shower head. It will be floating around in the vinegar bag.
However, although the vinegar will lift most of the gunk from the shower head, you’ll likely still need to scrub a bit to get all the gunk out from all the little holes.
How to clean shower holes? The easiest way to clean the shower holes is by using an old toothbrush for scrubbing and a toothpick to clear everything from each little hole. Finish it off by rinsing it off and your shower head should be nice and clean.
Step 4- Rinse the Shower Head and You’re all Done
Lastly, you’ll need to give your shower head a quick rinse to finish it off. And the shower head should be clean. And you will definitely notice a huge difference when you shower next!
Super easy right? I hope you found this vinegar showerhead hack helpful!

How to Avoid Shower Head Build-Up
A simple way to avoid build-up from accumulating in your shower head is to scrub the nozzle regularly. A great way to implement this into your cleaning routine is by keeping an old toothbrush in the shower. And every other week, as you shower, you can give your shower head a good scrubbing. If you do this regularly, your shower head will have less build-up in the nozzle holes and won’t need deep cleaning as often.
