Organizing Storage Solutions For Small Spaces | Q&A:
1. How do you organize a small house with no storage?
When it comes to a small home and wanting to organize it you have to think of every space in your home that might have the potential to be turned into storage. Some examples are the space behind the doors, and empty walls located in space where you can install some wall shelves. Take advantage of vertical space, especially when you are dealing with a small home. You can best use that vertical space by using stackable containers, wall shelving, or both.
2. How do you maximize storage in a small house?
Here are just some ways you can maximize the storage in a small house. There are many, but these are the ones I use most often.
- Use the back of the door by using an over-the-door organizer.
- Use space savings bags.
- Add shelving to empty walls paired with baskets or bins.
- Use the space under your bed.
- Add additional shelving to use up the vertical space inside the closet if you have it.
- Add stackable containers under sinks to maximize storage.
- Use turntables wherever possible.
- If you are in the market for new furniture, look into furniture with storage built-in. Some furniture pieces that come with good storage are tv consoles, headboards, and coffee tables, to name a few.
3. Where do I start when organizing my room?
The best way to start when organizing a room is to first clean the room. You do not want to start an organizational project in a messy room. So before organizing any room, do basic cleaning of the space, and as you clean carry a trash bag around with you so you can start throwing items that are obvious trash. Do not declutter and organize just yet. First, finish cleaning the room so you can start with a clean slate.
